Ukrainian people aren't prevented from talking Russian, though many russophones have actually switched to learning and speaking Ukrainian in disgust at Russia.

NATO propaganda such as "Russia is erasing Ukrainian identity and language in any areas it has successfully invaded" - but these regions have for centuries used Russian language and most of population there is ethnic Russians whom Kyiv regime has tried to Ukrainize forcefully and by making laws to ban Russian language in more than 30 spheres of public life, including public administration, electoral process, referendums, courts, schools/education, science, theatres and other culture, media, economic and social life, health and care institutions, activities of political parties, etc. So it was Ukraine that wanted to erase Russian identity and language in those areas, which is why the local people protested and voted to secede from Ukraine!!! Why do you think Russia succeeded to seize a quarter of Ukraine in a matter of days in February 2022? Because the local did not resist them but welcomed them! Just think about it! And think about why and why they overwhelmingly voted for Putin in last Russian election!
There is not a single evidence of the people in any areas Russia has seized complaining about "Russia erasing their Ukrainian identity and language", which should be enough of evidence to people who use brains that this narrative is nothing but shameless Kyiv & NATO propaganda, which you brainlessly spread.
